HORSE GAME: A FRIEND YOU CAN RIDE ON
Game Artist | 2017
Nick and I were fellow residents at the UCLA Game Lab. He’s a wonderful thinker, artist, and an all around humble-awesome friend. Check out his explorations here.
We teamed up to jam on a live performance game using the UCLA Arcade Backpack for the UCLA Game Art Festival 2017. The challenge was to design a game utilizing and interacting with the mobility of the Arcade Backpack.
Nick liked the idea of an Uber-like service for dating where the player must direct the cab driver’s steps in order to pickup dates and travel to locations in-game.
We settled on an aesthetic based on Medieval illuminated scripts.

And since we knew we wanted the player to pick up a variety of interesting characters, I created multiple sets of interchangeable body parts. Exquisite corpse!

Something we didn’t expect... Nick in full regalia featured on Chinese News. Ha!
